In a city where vanity often precedes all other virtues, here is a cautionary tale for those for whom the mirror dominates all other concerns. Thirty-five-year-old Aryan Vaid, who started his career by winning the hunky Mr. India pageant in 2000, has admitted to Mumbai Mirror that abusing his body with a hair-loss pill and exhaustive two-and-a-half hour workouts have cost him his virility. Vaid’s testosterone levels have dipped alarmingly and his energy levels have been low for the last several months. He realised the gravity of the situation only a few weeks ago. My testosterone levels have come down. They are hinging on the borderline now. I am paying the price for abusing my body, admitted Vaid. I used to hit the gym for nearly two-and-a-half hours every day. I used to get very tired but I never realised where I was heading. My body started releasing cortisol, one of the two parts of the adrenal gland. This began neutering my testosterone levels. I did not pay much attention to this, until I started getting symptoms associated with high blood pressure. In addition, an anti-balding drug has played havoc with Vaid’s system. There was some hair fall in the front, on the right side. I started taking a drug, which I thought would prevent hair loss. It worked as well, but my doctors said that this drug too was one of the reasons why my testosterone levels dropped, he said. When contacted, sexologist Rajan Bhonsle confirmed the potential adverse effects of too much exercise …
Question: Just Curious Survey: If there really were such a thing as a “happy pill”, not a drug, just something that …
… kept you happy, would you take one?
What if the major side effect was gut-wrenching stomach cramps 18 hours after ingestion. Lasting 3-4 hours.
Would you take one in this case?
FYI Minor side effects include loss of nose hair, stunted toenail growth, and decreased interest in seafood.

Question: Need advice, and have questions about getting off of the “mini pill”!?
Hello! I’ve been on the mini-pill since having my first child 18 months ago. Since then I have experienced the not so wonderful side effects such as hair loss, oily scalp, acne & a COMPLETE loss of my sex drive.
I’m trying to make the decision whether or not to go off of the pill and resort to the Fertility Awareness Method along with the use of condoms or abstenence during my fertile time. My question: Does the mini-pill alter my natural cycle? meaning when I stop taking it will my current cycle change making it difficult or impossible for me to use this method effectively? I really am not ready for another child right now, however I would like to start trying again about this time next year. Am I taking too much of a risk of getting pregnant if I try this or should I just continue to take the pill and deal with these awful side effects?
Also, I can’ be on any form of birth control that contains estrogen, that leaves me with no other option besides Fertility Awareness.

Being on the mini pill could have the potential of affecting the cycle such as by making the periods heavier (an example only). Sometimes even lighter (another example only) but most I’ve talked to that have tried progesterone only pills had heavier bleeding.
I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say but in the mean time here’s the link to a site that may help you find even more information:
http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health (there are doctors there too)
