Aiden Perkins is only two months old, but times have been tough. A couple weeks ago, his mom was changing his diaper when she found something bad. (Felisha Jorgenson): And he had a medium-sized bump on his pelvic/groin area. And if you would touch it, it would bother him. I showed my mom and my dad, and we decided to take him to ER. Doctors removed the lymph node that night. (Felisha Jorgenson): They reviewed it, found abnormal cells in the lymph node. They wanted a second opinion, so they sent it to Mayo in Minnesota. Less than a week later, Felisha Jorgenson got the call. She needed to bring Aiden to St. Pauls Fairview Hospital right away. (Myron Jorgenson): They asked if we could be there the next day. I said yes. Grandpa Myron works at Dakota Gasification Company. In the first two days at the hospital, Aiden had two surgeries. Five days later, Aiden had his first chemo treatment. The next day, the family was on their way back to Bismarck. (Myron Jorgenson): Its been a long, long week so far. Aiden has LCH – Langerhans cell histiocytosis. (Felisha Jorgenson): They treat it with chemo, but they still dont consider it cancer. Aiden will need chemo treatments every week for the next three months and then every three weeks until a year from now. (Myron Jorgenson): You just get mad at everything. Trying to figure out why. Question: Going away… can I skip this month’s period?
I’ve been on birth control for almost a year now. In 2 weeks I’m going to Virginia for a long weekend with my boyfriend and our friends. My period of course falls on the week of this trip, and since I’ve started these pills, I noticed I don’t get my period until Wednesday of the “sugar pill” week. This means for the entire trip, I’ll have my period.
I’ve never tried this before, but is it possible to miss this period? I’m on a pill where every week has a higher dose of hormones than the week before if that makes a difference.
And my real concern is since Thanksgiving I have been losing my hair in tremendous amounts. I had a close death in the family and was doing poorly in college that semester because of that. I found myself under high stress and my hair was falling out at a ridiculous rate. It sounds farfetched, but I’m willing to bet I lost at least a third already. Is my hair loss from stress? my birth control? something else? and will skipping this period cause more hair loss?

I have two bald brothers.. I know it sounds stupid since “if you have two bald brothers then you are definitely going bald”, but i’m not really sure ’cause my dad wasn’t bald..

and by the way… i have a 2nd question: is it possible for a green-eyed woman and a blue-eyed man to genetically produce non green-eyed/blue-eyed children? i don’t think so but i’d like to make sure since my mom is green eyed and my dad’s blue.. and all of us turned to be either blue or green, with pale skin and blondish hair… so is it possible for them to produce children that have different qualities??

It started with receding temples a few years ago when I was 18. Well really just the right one. Which at the time really worried me. “aah i’m going bald” I thought to myself. I’m 21 now. About a month ago I noticed how the hair on my crown is getting pretty thin. I think this is pretty recent. I admit I had a panic at first. I was even thinking about rogaine or something. But thinking about it now I couldn’t care less. I think I’m just going to cut it short or maybe shave it all off. My ears go out a little far, but hopefully it will be fine. I have never once had any negative comments about them. Have I lost my mind? A week ago I was obsessing over it, and now I’m like oh **** it I don’t even care. I’m even thinking about joining a gym and getting in shape, I’m really skinny about 135 pounds and 5’11″. I was thinking some muscles would look nice with my new short haircut. I mentioned cutting my hair really short and my parents seemed a little hesitant about it. Anyway what do you think about all of this? What do women think about guys with shaved heads? Hoping for a few more responses this time.
