Question: How to hide a bald strip (after sew in) on head?
My daughter just got her first sew-in today and we had no idea what to expect. She has very thin hair and the stylist actually had to add hair to her braids to keep the tracks from slipping out. Her hair was braided in a circle pattern all over her head with a slight side part in the front, the problem is that now her part is “bald” and you can see the ends of the braids and her scalp really good. It doesn’t help that black hair was used for the braids. She used a deep burgundy for the sew-in and her scalp is white. It actually looks like a scar with stitches to me and her graduation ceremony is tonight and the cap is not going to cover it. I thought about trying to fill it in with some kind of makeup pencil and even gluing some pieces of the leftover hair to her scalp with eyelash glue just enought to cover the bald strip (I figured if it was safe for the eyes, it would be safe for the scalp). My daughter is not open to my crazy ideas and is one of those people that just accept things for what they are, unfortunately the part is just too horrible-looking to ignore especially up close. It’s a shame too because the hair is beautiful, any suggestions?

I wish I could see it to fix it.When I had permed hair that happened to me a lot so I started doing my own because $ 250.00 was too much to pay for it not to be PERFECT?. There are tutorials on youtube look up invisible part weaves they use small strips of hair to camouflage and look like a natural part. I think it will work for you. If you don’t have hair left get a half a pack of the same hair and some glue and sit in front of your computer be confident and you WILL get this right. Do me a favor though please don’t tear her down if she feels good about herself please let it be. As a mother you are supposed to instill in her that she has to rock no matter what happens because when she stops being sure of herself she will start to fail. She will be wearing a cap anyway. Don’t make this stressful for her okay. Congradulations and good luck. Be Blessed.

Question: I just noticed I have a bald spot. I’m a 17 year old female, what do I do?
I’ve been growing my hair out for 7 years and it just about reaches my knees now, I love it. But today my brother looks down at my head (he’s taller) and says. “Dude, your going bald!” I looked in the mirror and saw a patch about an inch big on the top of my head that showed a lot of skin. After all the crying was over I remembered that my headphones I wear do make that area sore. And that my brother went bald at 20something. What do I do? Do I wear a hat until it grows back? will it grow back? Should I just shave my head and start over?
Could it have been my headphones that did it?
And thank you kw, I’ve had problems because of wearing a ponytail too often before. I think I’m just gonna throw out all my hair ties for clips instead. Sound safer?

Question: Does my hair go bald form too much braiding?
I just braided my hair about two months ago, and really want to un-tie it and braid it again, but my dad won’t let me. He said “If you braid your hair too much, don’t you think by the time you get to about age twenty five, you might be going bald?” So I asked my friend, who’s mom is like an expert on hair braiding, and he said “Don’t worrie it won’t happen, have you ever seen my sister? Her hair is ALWAYS braided.” But his sister is like ten. Then I did some reserch and there was this blog about a guy hows friend went bald from braiding his hair. So I’m really starting to get worried. If this fact is true , could you also tell me how I can prent my hair from going bald, but still braid my hair as much as I possibly can. I mean like telling me how long of o breack i should take between each braiding session. Also by “braiding” I mean cornrow style. Your help and/or opinion is much aprriciated. Thank you for your time. I really need help!!!

You can lose hair from genetics and poor diet and stress and certain drugs and other physiological conditions. I’ve also read in a couple of reasonably reputable sources that tight braiding can also contribute to hair loss, however.

Well that was a short one wasn’t it? Here’s another.

Bald people got no reason to live
Its worse than being short and you got so much less to give
No eyebrows no pubes
like a fetus in a tube
Bald people they got no reason to live

Bald people they got no excuse to go on
Reflecting the moon with their boney dome brightly shone
Sitting under the sun
like an undercooked bun
Bald people they gotta be done away with

Ha! “Bald” is in, supposedly. I’ve known enough men to know that there are plenty out there who still are interested in the “bush” look. I don’t know if every month is like that, but my guess is mostly yes.

Question: What’s wrong with being bald?
I’ve caught flack on this site for having a bald avatar, comments like “people who shave their heads because they are going bald” etc. I’m not hiding the fact that I’m losing my hair, it’s just that I would look like I was wearing a flesh colored yamaka on my head if I grew my hair out.
